An Imaginary Conversation between Manual Testing and Automated Testing

Hello All

Let’s see what they have discussed.

AT : Hello my dear friend how are you! What’s up?
MT : So far so good. Any special plans for the Test Automation day?
AT : Bang on!! In fact, I came here to invite you as a “Special Guest” for this event.
MT : Oh really! You got to be kidding.
AT : OH no nooo!!! Here is the invitation

MT : Mind Blowing AT . Am thrilled, But why Me at your event?
AT : It’s not my Event, It’s our event and I want you to address on RCA (Root cause analysis) and Re Engineering concepts and I know that you are the best in the business
MT : Thanks for the compliment. I will address the same. How about few points on Devops and building a stable application and usage of continuous integration tools before test Automation?
AT : Perfectly fine MT. Is there any recent update from your end?
MT : Yes I do have. It’s ALM-Application Lifecycle Management. I monitor the application from end to end and all minor or major changes will be captured within the tool.

AT : That’s good to know, well! From my end I have two updates recently. It’s Evolution of Frameworks (Model based and UI Driven Development) and Next Gen Test Automation (Serenity & Screenplay Pattern)

automation-testing-frameworkMT : No prizes for guessing. I know you will be rocking always with regular updates
AT : It all started from you MT.
MT :  (A small grin) I thought of ringing you yesterday, you weren’t reachable.
AT : I know the box was down due to a windows update/restart OOPZ! Sorry, anything urgent?
MT : Not really, just want to reconfirm is there any new update on Video, Audio and Captcha can be tested by your tools or framework?
AT : Nope MT, Test Video, Audio and Captcha cannot be automated. We are still working on it. Capcha can be semi automated using 3rd party API.

MT : Great. Even we are trying on the same.
AT : That’s awesome, I believe few banking applications like MISYS products like Ti+2 and FBTI, is still performing well, because of you.
MT : That’s in a way correct, however Regression made my TAT to go on a higher side, and the inevitable happened, as everyone knows
AT : I do agree. But I have to be honest with you MT. We cannot be without you. Everyone knows we both have to go hand in hand always (A symbiotic relationship)
MT : Sounds so pleasant to my ears. I wish our relationship continues as mutual as always
AT : Sure MT. Will always be. I hope we are gonna have a good time at Netherlands next month.
MT : I will.
AT : You take care.
MT : Sure. Bye.
AT : Bye

As the conversation ended on a happier note, have you noticed a mutual respect and equality been expressed by both MT and AT?   Wondered why??!!

Manual and automation testing are inseparable. A well devised global strategy (for both manual & automation team) and the involvement of manual testers in the process are key to automation success.

The objective of this blog is to showcase the trends in Manual and Automation testing and also to convey the conjoint importance of the same.

{ The above conversation is purely imaginary. Please feel free to provide your comments/ suggestions and feedback on this so that it will be a very good knowledge sharing portal in our Software Testing field }
